Binaural hearing
Binaural hearing is hearing in both ears, the way nature intended.
Binaural hearing is hearing in both ears, the way nature intended. Sounds reach us from all around and by the interaction of both ears and brain we can work out where sounds are coming from. This also gives us the ability to seperate one sound from another and to listen to one particular sound against distracting background noise.
If you are currently only using one hearing aid in one ear, then obviously you are hearing much better than with out an aid at all. However you may be finding that because you have stronger hearing on one side it may be difficult to tell one sound from another. This is because your brain is designed to react to signals from two ears and it does not know how to react properly when only half of the information is present.
Binaural hearing, that is wearing a hearing aid in each ear, balances your hearing out. The quality of sound heard and understood is greatly improved and you will find that you no longer have to turn your" good" ear towards the sound source.
